How Spaces Work

A Space is the highest level in socra’s hierarchy. It contains all Projects, Issues, and members for a given team or initiative. Spaces have their own compiled memory and permission model.

Space > Project > Module > Issue

Every item in socra belongs to exactly one Space. The Space provides the boundary for permissions, billing, and AI Teammate context.

When Projects inside a Space compile memory from completed Issues, the compilation cascades upward to the Space level. The Space’s content area builds a strategic overview of all work across all Projects.

  • Each Space has an Owner (the creator).
  • Members are assigned roles: Viewer, Commenter, Editor, Admin.
  • Permissions apply to all content within the Space unless overridden at the item level via sharing.
  • See How Permissions Work for inheritance details.
